The Carousel Palette is a lovely landmark located in the middle of historical downtown Littleton, only a few yards away from Main Street where you can enjoy a wide variety of restaurants, antique shops and wonderful gift boutiques. The Carousel has its own free parking as well as being within walking distance of the RTD Light Rail Station. Built circa 1880 this historic building has quite a story. This home's first of many owners, were Fred Comstock, an early day blacksmith. Then later a Colonel Robert Spotswood, a well-known stagecoach driver. The Colonel, whose title was honorary, ran a line from Morrison to Leadville and was quite a character. He also built a business block on the southwest corner of Curtice Street and Main Street which still exists today only a few feet away. Another owner was Fred Bemis, a notable personage and long ago Littleton mayor, whom reportedly rented this building to the notorious Alfred Packer who's buried in the Littleton Cemetery only a mile away.
